In late 2023, Autograph shifted its product direction from a bespoke NFT curator to a platform centered around sports fandom. I joined the project post-MVP to lead design operations, an exciting phase as we began scaling and building a content-rich experience for sports fans.
Guided by a mission to bring unique value to sports fans, our goals centered on product-market fit, a refined user experience, and integrating accessible Web3 features.
When I joined, my teammate and I began by assessing current designs and identifying immediate design needs. This allowed us to establish the fundamental atomic elements—such as type, color, and layout—that would become the backbone of our design language.
A comparison of component designs from MVP to Version 1, showcasing the evolution from basic layouts to a refined, polished interface.
In collaboration with Adopt, Autograph underwent a bold rebrand, embracing a dynamic visual identity that highlights sports culture and fan engagement.
In early 2024, our company went through a visual rebrand. While it didn’t significantly impact our design system, we quickly absorbed these changes into our workflow, ensuring brand consistency as we moved forward.
From day one, we prioritized user feedback and data analysis. By constantly testing and iterating based on user signals, we stayed closely aligned with our audience’s needs. Being a small team allowed us to pivot quickly—removing outdated features and rolling out improvements that truly resonated with users.
User feedback inspired the implementation of stadium map filtering, allowing fans to select seats by specific sections and preferences, enhancing our ticket-buying experience.
As we continued rapid development, our platform evolved from a content aggregator to a multifaceted sports experience, including:
Showcasing a few iterations of the Rewards UI evolving from feedback and testing.
Alongside new feature releases, the design team refined the Rewards UI by integrating the ticketing feature, streamlining how users explore and redeem rewards. Through user feedback, we enhanced the overall experience to make it more intuitive and engaging.
As one of our primary goals, we set out to integrate Web3 components thoughtfully. First, we developed the Autograph Litepaper to outline our Web3 ecosystem. From there, we introduced:
User Profiles with Custodial Hot Wallets: Allowing users to manage their assets within the platform.Achievement
Badges as On-Chain NFTs: Rewarding users with collectible, blockchain-secured achievements.
WalletConnect (Testing Phase): Enabling secure and simple Web3 access for users to connect their wallets.
Auto-wrapping ETH for users was one way of simplifying buying & bidding

Looking back, I’m amazed at what we accomplished in such a short time. Building a cohesive design system, launching cutting-edge features, and continually refining the user experience all came together because of our dedicated team and our freedom to test and iterate.
This experience underscored the power of collaboration and the impact of working in an environment that encourages creativity and growth.
